Barnhouse

This barnhouse is located in Almere Stad, a modern and still developing urban area. The client’s brief was a small contemporary house with a minimalistic design, including a living and kitchen on the ground floor and bedroom and bathroom on the first floor. The form of the structure is dominated by the especially long windows in the façade which reaches up to the roof and act as a transition space in this design. It also emphasizes the entry of the house. The veranda with pergolas completes the outline. The veranda can be opened or converted with automatic blinds.

The skin of the house will be made of black pre-weathered zinc with a wood-frame construction underneath. The frame of the windows are made of black enameled aluminum.
The wood accents and white stucco of the interior refresh the whole interior atmosphere.
The interior of the house speaks the same minimalistic language as its façade.
